The Society of Law Accountants in Scotland

Education

The classes provided through The Society of Law Accountants in Scotland (SOLAS) and which are examinable by a Board of Examiners set up by SOLAS will relaunch in August.

The course has been revamped to take account of changing requirements within the profession and now focus initially on the three key areas of Cash-room Accounting, Executries and Feeing.

The course is now for a period of one year and one term is dedicated to each module. Modules will be provided on one evening per week in Aberdeen, Dundee, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness (numbers permitting).

In order to provide as much flexibility as possible staff can either undertake all three modules in the one year or only one or two of the modules. Those students who successfully complete all 3 modules will then be able to apply to SOLAS for Associate Membership.

The criteria for applying is at least one year’s experience of working within the legal/accountancy profession and preferably, but not compulsory, some knowledge of Executries.
