The Feeing Course provides a practical introduction to the principles and procedures involved in preparing legal fees within a Scottish legal practice. Designed for legal support staff, administrators, cashroom personnel, and those seeking to broaden their understanding of legal finance, the course focuses on the skills required to accurately assess and charge fees in accordance with professional standards.
Students will explore the purpose of feeing, the importance of maintaining accurate and comprehensive files, the role of Terms of Business letters, and the Law Society of Scotland regulations relating to the charging of fees. Through practical examples and applied learning, participants will gain the knowledge needed to confidently review and fee legal files while recognising omissions or information gaps that may affect billing.
