How Can We Help?
Quick guides for the main SOLAS features members, advertisers, and event submitters use most often.
Events, Attendance & CPD
Understand the difference between booking an event, attending it, and seeing CPD appear in your totals.
Events, Attendance, And CPD
Why this can be confusing
Events, attendance, and CPD are connected, but they are not the same thing.
An event booking does not always mean CPD is already on your record.
Event booking
This is the part where you:
- view the event
- register or buy a ticket if needed
- receive the booking confirmation
Booking confirms your place, but it does not automatically mean attendance has been recorded.
Event attendance
Attendance means there is a record that you actually attended the event.
Depending on the event setup, attendance may be:
- captured automatically
- imported later
- checked or confirmed by SOLAS
CPD linked to an event
If an event is CPD-enabled, CPD may then be awarded or claimed after attendance is recorded.
That means there can be a delay between:
- booking the event
- attending the event
- seeing the CPD reflected in your totals
Why the CPD may not appear immediately
Possible reasons include:
- attendance has not been processed yet
- approval is still pending
- the event is not configured to award CPD automatically
- the CPD was routed through another system path such as a later import
Best next step
If you attended an event and expected CPD, first allow time for attendance or review processing. If the CPD still does not appear, contact SOLAS with the event name and date.
