Quick guides for the main SOLAS features members, advertisers, and event submitters use most often.
Subscriptions & Renewals
Understand fixed-term SOLAS renewals, manual renewal subscriptions, and what renewal dates mean on your account.
Subscriptions And Renewals
Why this can look unusual
Some SOLAS purchases are shown as subscriptions because they control ongoing access or annual renewal handling.
That does not always mean they behave like a simple anniversary-based consumer subscription.
Fixed-term SOLAS renewals
SOLAS membership renewals and some education-related access products can be aligned to fixed SOLAS terms.
That means the renewal date may be aligned to:
- the SOLAS membership cycle
- the SOLAS education term
rather than the exact date the original purchase was made.
Manual renewal subscriptions
Some SOLAS subscriptions are set up to track renewal status while still expecting a manual renewal step rather than a fully automatic recurring charge.
On your account, that may appear as:
- a subscription record
- renewal dates or next payment dates
- a
Renew nowaction - wording such as
Manual renewal
Orders, subscriptions, and renewals
For these journeys, different parts of the account can each matter:
Orders- shows the purchase record
Invoices- shows the billing view
My Subscription- shows the renewal status and next action
My Membership- shows the account-facing membership view
Why the dates may not match what you expected
If a renewal product is aligned to a SOLAS term, the account may not behave like:
- buy today
- renew on the same date next year
Instead, SOLAS may realign the renewal timing to the fixed annual term used for that product.
Best next step
If you are reviewing a renewal, check both the subscription screen and your membership screen. If the timing or wording still looks unclear, contact SOLAS and mention the subscription or order number.
