Quick guides for the main SOLAS features members, advertisers, and event submitters use most often.

Follow common journeys for students, members, job applicants, employers, event users, and advertisers.

Typical Journeys

These examples show how different users usually move through the site.

Student

  1. Log in from the site header.
  2. Open the relevant course or lesson.
  3. Watch the lesson video and continue through the learning content.
  4. Return later through your course area to pick up where you left off.
  5. Use Downloads or the document dashboard if SOLAS has provided branch-specific student guidance or rules.

Good to know

  • students may not see the same CPD tools as a full member
  • lesson video should be checked on the lesson page itself
  • branch-based student documents are driven by the student branch held on the account, which may be derived from the exam-location choice made during checkout

Member Recording CPD

  1. Log in and open My CPD.
  2. Review your current totals.
  3. Add structured or unstructured CPD as needed.
  4. Write a reflection of at least 20 words where the form requires it.
  5. Upload evidence if the form asks for it.
  6. Return later to check approval and totals.
  7. Open My Certificates once the cycle is complete.

Member Applying For A Job

  1. Open the jobs area.
  2. Choose a role.
  3. Apply through the site application process.
  4. Return to your account or candidate tools to review your application activity.

Non-Member Applying For A Job

  1. Open the public jobs area.
  2. View the role you are interested in.
  3. Start the application journey.
  4. Provide the required details and submit the application.

Employer Posting A Job

  1. Open the jobs entry point.
  2. Follow the guided job-posting route.
  3. Enter the job details.
  4. Complete the linked submission or purchase process.
  5. Review the created listing in the employer area.

Member Adding An Event

  1. Log in as a member.
  2. Open the event submission route provided on the site.
  3. Enter the full event details.
  4. Submit the event through the correct guided flow.
  5. Wait for review or publication where required.

Member Booking Or Attending An Event

  1. Open the event listing.
  2. Book or register if needed.
  3. Attend the event.
  4. Check later whether attendance or CPD has been recorded where relevant.

Advertiser Booking Advertising

  1. Open the advertising route.
  2. Follow the guided advert booking form.
  3. Choose the right slot and enter the advert details.
  4. Complete the linked order or submission.
  5. Return later to review advert status if needed.
